I have made this 3 times so far and it is very good, cold on sandwiches too.
Heat Oven to 400
Things needed: Glass baking dish, foil , skillet
1/2 Bell Pepper
2 cup rolled oats (or whole grain vegan bread crumbs)
1 container of tofu (Frozen and thawed)
4 squirts Braggs Liquid aminos or soy sauce
1 small can tomato sauce
herbs to taste ( I used oregano & garlic )
1 cup water (more or less)
oil for saute' & greasing pan
Sautee onion and bell pepper
Crumble tofu in large bowl, add all ingrediants except the tomato sauce & water
Knead into a ball
Add the water slowly, may need more may need less , you need this to be moist and firm but not dry. Mix into a ball again
Oil your baking dish and add mixture , form a mound with your dough
pour can of sauce on top
cover with foil and bake 30 minutes.
The trick to making this right, is that the firmness it is before you cook it is how firm it will be when done. So make sure it is firm , you may need to add more oatmeal or if too dry and more water.
