Tomato base ( I used a 32 oz. one)
Water (depending on how many servings you want to make, add the approriate amount)
2 c. chopped celery
2 c. chopped carrots
half a white onion chopped
three bay leaves
tablespoon of garlic
salt to taste
1 c. cooked brown rice ( I used some from Trader Joe's)
For the hamburger part, you can either use tofu that had been frozen and thawed to give it a "meaty" texture, or if you're feeling lazy, some sort of prepacked burger.
Pour the tomato base and water in a good sized pot and heat it up for a few minutes.
Add the veggies, garlic, and spices and let simmer for ten minutes.
Add the hamburger and let cook for five more minutes.
Finally, add the rice and let it simmer for ten more minutes.
Serve with yummy bread, or better yet, make a bread bowl.
