Lentil spaghetti bolognaise

I made this last night because I used to be able to buy this stuff at the store until they stopped making it. Im finally making those fillet o tofish tonight 2! yummmm its marinading!

1/2 cup to a cup of lentils
two cans tomatoes
half onion, chopped finely
2 cloves crushed garlic
herbs (i used fresh basil and parsley, and dried thyme, rosemary and oregano)
salt to taste
tablespoon of olive oil
teaspoon vegan butter

Soak lentils for 15 min or so then in a large pan put in the oil and vegan butter. fry onions and garlic until see-through, then add lentils and stir. Add all other ingredients and simmer on low heat for at least 30 min. Check that lentils have swollen and softened. Cook your favourite pasta, and serve hot! I served mine on baby spinach from the backyard yummo :)
