I made savory and good biscuits this morning. Holy crap, did they ever turn out tasty! Here's what I did.
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 TBS dried chives
1 TBS dried dill
1/2 TBS garlic powder
1 TBS nutritional yeast (optional)
1/4 tsp fresh ground black pepper
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
2 TBS vegetable oil
1 cup soy milk mixed with 1 TBS vinegar
Preheat oven to 450.
In a large bowl, sift together the dry ingredients. Add the oil and soured soymilk and mix until just mixed. Any more, and you'll have hockey pucks instead of fluffy biscuits. Spoon into lightly oiled muffin tins. Bake for about 15 minutes - until golden brown. Makes 6 nice sized biscuits. Slather on the Earth Balance and you're in heaven.
