Substitute for canned cream of mushroom soup?

Hello everyone! I checked the FAQ and couldn't find anything, so I thought I would ask you brilliant chefs if you had a substitute for *canned* cream of mushroom soup.

Like the gelatinous campbell's kind. :)

I want to make this:

Swartzie's Potatoes

2 lb. bag frozen hash browns
1/2 cup margarine, melted
2 cans mushroom soup
1 (16 oz.) container of "sour cream"
1/2 tsp. salt
1 medium onion, grated (optional)
Grated cheddar "cheese" for topping
"Parmesan cheese" (sprinkle on top of cheddar cheese)

1. Mix all ingredients, except cheddar and parmesan cheese, and pour into a casserole dish.

2. Bake at 350° for 60 to 90 minutes, until the sides are bubbling.

3. Top with cheeses and put back in the oven until cheese is melted.

I have vegan versions of everything else, but I'm stumped about the canned soup. It was one of my faves back when I was a vegetarian! Thanks in advance!

(It's super unhealthy, but it's a fantastic comfort food ;) )
