Gingerbread Creates Molasses Addictions

Long time lurker, first-time poster. This recipe couldn't be kept from the public.

*Adapted from a Martha Stewart Recipe*

2 1/2 cups of flour (I use Whole Wheat)

1/2 cup of vegetable oil (I use sunflower)

1 cup of boiling water

2 teaspoons of baking soda

2 teaspoons of baking powder

2 Tablespoons of white vinegar

1 1/2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon

2 teaspoons of ground ginger

1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon of salt

2 Tablespoons of grated fresh ginger

1 cup of molasses

2/3 of packed brown sugar

2 "eggs" worth of egg replacer


1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees and spray a bakign pan with PAM.

2. Put water onto boil. In large bowl mix together flour, spices, salt, baking powder, salt and sugar.

3. Put the baking soda in the measure cup and and add boilign water. Mix and add to big bowl.

4. Mix in remainder of ingrediants and baek for about 40 minutes or until toothpick inserte comes out clean. Serve drizzled in molasses.
