Flapjacks

Regarding the lovely recipe for flapjacks only a couple of posts down:

Yet another in the long list of oddly divergent meanings for the same word between the United States of America and the United Kingdom is flapjack.

In the US, a flapjack is a breakfast pancake.

In the UK, a flapjack is a sweet, sticky, oaten dessert.

We remain divided by a common tongue :)
