Vegan TVP loaf?

I've been trolling the FAQ's looking for recipes for not-meat loaf-- I see one recipe for lentil loaf, which I want to try, but does anyone have a recipe using burger style "crumbles" or TVP?

Thanks in advance!

spicy carrot, broccoli, and tofu stirfry w/ brown rice

ingredients:

1 cup brown rice
1 to 1 1/2 cups water
---
3 tbsp vegetable or olive oil
1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
1 large carrot, peeled or scrubbed, sliced julienne-style (long thin strips)
1 small onion, chopped
1 cup broccoli florets, either fresh or frozen then defrosted
1 cup firm tofu, drained, pressed, and crumbled
2 tbsp garlic
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp powdered ginger (or real ginger if you prefer)
sesame seeds
1 tbsp lime juice
1/4 to 1/3 cup teriyaki sauce (or soy sauce if you prefer)

rice:
heat nonstick pan on med-high. add rice and toast for 5-6 minutes, stirring often, until grains begin to brown and smell fragrant. add water (1 cup for chewier rice, 1 1/2 for fluffier, softer rice). cover, bring to a boil, then turn down to simmer for about 20 minutes until all water is absorbed.

stir-fry:
heat oils in non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. add onions and carrots, saute for about 5 minutes, stirring often, until onions begin to brown slightly. add garlic, crumbled tofu, and broccoli, and saute for another 2-3 minutes. add garlic, chili powder, ginger, and sesame seeds; stir to incorporate. add lime juice and teriyaki to taste.

this makes enough for one REALLY hungry person, or two normal people. :)

Foods for colds

I checked the memories (which look great!) but didn't find a category for this. If there is one, direct me there of course. :)

I just came down with a nasty cold. Anyone got any recipes that are supposed to, I don't know, ease the symptoms (a la chicken noodle soup) or help strengthen the immune system to fight it (when I get colds, they tend to last for weeks)? Any knowledge/personal experience would be great. Thanks!

tvp question

tvp, is that like quorn? kinda? because i'm from sweden, where quorn is what you usually use, and now i'm suddenly in america and can't find quorn, at least not in the chunk version i'm used to. (i'm not strictly vegan, but almost) i've used tofu a lot, but i'm getting tired of it and what something that's not... as mushy. is the brand tvp or is that just an abbreviation of some kind that i don't know about? if not... what is the brand i should look for? i'm dying for a "beef" strogranoff, which i used to do all the time with quorn at home.
i am like so hot. lip.

waldorf salad

3 or 4 apples, unpeeled, cut from the core, and chopped into bite size pieces (about 3 cups)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/3 cup raisins ( i add dried cherries, cranberries and apples as well)
2/3 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup walnuts (optional)
1/3 cup grapeseed oil veganaise ( i think this is the best kind)
1 tablespoon sugar

Cut up 3 or 4 apples, until you get about 2 1/2 or 3 cups of chopped apples. Sprinkle the lemon juice over the apples. The acid in the lemon juice prevents the apples from turning brown. Chop up the celery, it should take about 2 stalks or so. .Mix everything together in a medium sized bowl except for the veganaise and the sugar. In a small bowl mix the veganaise and sugar together, then add it to the salad. Mix it all up, coating all of the ingredients with the veganaise. You can serve it plain, or you can do what i do and wrap some in a wheat flatbread.

This recipe serves 6.
