(no subject)

When I was younger my friends mom taught how to make these amazing crepes. It was as easy as 2 cups of flour, 1 cup of water and some sugar (problem is .. i think i'm missing something and i'm totatlly guessing at those ingredients) Does anybody have a very very simple recipe for crepes?

summer beets

I have some beautiful organic beets! As with most root vegetables, wintry uses come to mind. Roasting and such. Anyone have a fresh, summery beet recipe?? I also have oranges: it strikes me all of a sudden that orange might go well with beet...

smart dogs

for those who have tried smart dogs....
i've had them before and they have an overwhelming 'smokey' flavor that i can't stand. today i bought them again knowing i was going to be making chili dogs and maybe the flavor of the chili would hide the smokeyness but it didn't at all. are there any other brands that taste more like..uhh...nothing, and just kind of filling? what about yves? are those even vegan? ahhhh

Grandma's Soft Chocolate Biscuits

1 cup of plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
Pinch of salt
Sift together dry ingredients then add 75g of melted Nuttelex (or whatever variety of vegan margarine you happen to use) Mix in and add 2 tsp of Egg-like with water, 1 tsp of vanilla essence. Mix together (turns out quite thick) roll into balls about 1 tablespoon to each, dredge in icing sugar (or castor sugar or whatever.)
Bake at 180º for 10-15 minutes.
