I was unable to find sucanat at my grocery store or health food store.can I just use molasses or sugar.the recipe is for portabella mushroom steaks and calls for 2 tablespoons.hurry this is for thanxgiving!!!thanx in advance.....

So, thanksgiving was a success. I'm vegan and my brother is a vegetarian, while my parents are hardcore meat-eaters. We had tofurkey, gross real turkey, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, corn, cornbread stuffing, vegan brocolli casserole, dairy brocolli casserole, spinach yumminess, peas and mushrooms, canned cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheesecake and a apple-cranberry strudel-cake. Amazing!

Well, Thanksgiving turned out beautifully. The stuffed pumpkin ended up really well; it made the stuffing a perfect texture, and I cooked it long enough so that soft bits of pumpkin flesh scooped right out with the stuffing itself, which made it really great. I was surprised by the results; I'd highly reccommend trying this for a holiday meal--it was great and really made a full and lovely centerpiece as well.

We also had vegan gravy and mashed potatos, butternut squash, cranberry sauce, marinated lentil salad, and asparagus. Very yum.
