Hullo everyone, I was wondering about vegan porridge. I haven't tried to make it in years now after my last attempt, but I love the atmosphere of it, and was wondering how you make good vegan porridge? My last attempt was an overcooked tub of soggy oats, and that's a kind way of putting it.
What are you supposed to put on the stuff? What ingredients go in to make it nicer? How's it actually supposed to turn out? I like the idea, but the reality is just a bit icky.

Pure maple syrup.

Can someone tell me the difference(s) between Grade A and Grade B pure maple syrup? Other than the fact that Grade A is more expensive?

I'm also curious if anyone uses cane syrup, date sugar, barley malt or fruit juice concentrate as liquid sweetners instead, and what success you've had?


Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients (use vegan versions):

1/2 cup non-hydrogenated vegan margarine
1/2 cup natural peanut butter
1/2 cup non-refined vegan sugar
1/2 cup sucanat or vegan brown sugar
2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon Ener-G Egg Replacer
2 cups flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt

What could I use to substitute this margarine and how much? Thanks.
