Vegan, Wheat-Free Scones!

These were adapted and veganized from a friend's regular scone recipe. I'd heard others raving about how delicious they were, and I wanted to see what I could do with them. I've never made scones before, and I'm really, really pleased with the results!

It wasn't until after I'd shipped some out for the vegan cookie swap that I realized they're much better fresh and warm from the oven! So, I hope they were okay upon arrival... =/

q about washing veggies

Hey everyone,

I recently saw a commercial for Fit Wash (or something similar) for vegetables, and I was wondering if y'all ever used it. I got my veggies from a CSA over the summer, but now that it's over I've been feeling a little ick about eating non-organic stuff, especially broccoli and lettuce and peppers, and this stuff seemed like it might be all right -- the commercial even said that it's vegan!

So.... if anyone has info about this stuff or another easy way to get my veggies clean, I'd appreciate it!

Vegan Alfredo!

I honestly wasn't sure this was going to work, but it did, and it tasted amazing!

I made penne pasta with a vegan alfredo sauce, broccoli, and a breaded, broiled cutlet of tofu. :) It was so good, I found it to taste very close to the alfredo I used to make using a ton of butter, heavy cream, and cheese. Many thanks to lj-user krystinacore - the cashews were a brilliant idea! Also, zaftigvegan, I used your recipe without even knowing it (with a few additions) - I made this last night before I read your comment in response to my question, but I didn't measure anything out. Your measurements look about the same as what I used, so those are the ones I'm going to type here for the recipe. :) Thank you! Great minds think alike.
