Hey everyone!

I have what may be a weird question...I don't think something similar has been posted.
Anyway basically I loved Cool Ranch Doritos before I went vegan...and out of everything they're what I crave the most! I know, I know...how healthy.
So, what I was hoping, is that someone who is knowledgeable with spices and the like, would be able to point me in the direction of creating my own version of them! Like what to use for flavouring etc. I'm not sure if this is an impossible feat, but I'd like to try.

Thanks in advance!

OK, I'm pretty sure this is cooking related (at least in my head it is) : P My mom bought me one of those vaccuum sealers for my apartment next year, and I was wondering: Can I make dinners, like, say.. Spaghetti.. And then separate it into portions and vaccuum seal them and freeze them, and then take them out and cook them later, sort of like a home-made TV dinner? Just wondering if anyone has done this before.. It would be really awesome if I could, because then I could just make a lot of stuff a few days, and freeze it, and have stuff to eat for a week or so. Thanks.

chocolate peanut butter cake?

I checked the recipe section of vegancooking, and did a little perusing on VegWeb, but I didn't come up with much.

My boyfriend's birthday is coming up, and although he is omni, I'd like to make us a fabulous vegan cake that will knock his socks off...just to prove it can be done. I don't cook often, so I feel like no one around me knows how good vegan food can actually be!

That being said, I'm in search of a cake that is chocolate and peanut butter. I was thinking a rich chocolate cake (of many layers) with a peanut butter or chocolate peanut butter frosting, but if anyone has any other ideas involving this combo, I'm game.

Feel free to point me in the direction of a link if I've missed something that has been covered already.

Thanks!

Banana Bread

Easy squeezy Banana Bread recipe

Was digging about, looking for the easiest recipe for banana bread I could find in my cookbooks that didn't require prune puree or the like. Wanted simple, and while this does require egg replacer, it's all stuff that I keep on hand as staples (flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, oil, bananas, egg replacer).

One other note, I liked it with a little cinnamon and allspice sprinkled in at the end. Yum!

Without further ado...Collapse )
