lately i've been drinking a lot of green smoothies, and in an attempt to make something that could i have quickly (i was late for school) and still have enough energy, i came up with this:
looks-like-vomit-but-tastes-amazing super smoothie! -a scoop of protein powder (optional) -1 banana -1/4 cup of kashi (or other dry cereal) -1/2 cup soymilk -1 tbsp cocoa powder -a handful of spinach -a handful of blueberries -a spoonful of sunflower seed butter
first, mix the cocoa powder with boiled water in a mug and then mix the soymilk with it. put everything else in a blender and pour in the chocolate soymilk. whrrrr.
you can mess around with the ingredients, of course. i use protein powder because i'm trying to up my intake. other berries would be good, or different kinds of greens (broccoli, maybe sprouts?), or different nut butters/cereals.. whatever. most of the stuff added was purely for nutritional value, but go nuts. :)
