i was going to make (veg) sushi today for dinner cos a friend is coming over. unfortunately i just discovered i have hardly any sushi rice. do you think long grain rice would do in its stead? anything i'd have to do to make it sushi-able?
I just made chocolate chip cinnamon cookies using tapioca flour in place of normal flour (I cannot have wheat/gluten). They taste really good and very much like cookies, but they have the weirdest texture. They are very sticky, almost glue-y in fact. I just thought I would put this out there in case anyone was thinking about using tapioca flour to bake with. It's even weirder because the bag specifically said that the flour was good for baking. It lied.
Does anyone happen to have an idea for the fillings of a tart(let), or a truffle using mango? I'm so stumped!
The person that I'm making this for doesn't like nuts, or coconut, so that's ruled out as a topping, or crust... and I just don't have any ideas! I'm thinking that something incorporating raspberry would work, too, but... I don't want to make something with a lot of clashing flavours. Please, some ideas?
I want, I need(!), a machine to make soy milk. My household drinks, yes no kidding, about a gallon of soy milk a day. I've seen one of the smaller machines but it just wouldn't produce the quantities that we drink.
