What can I do with quinces? I know I can't eat them raw. I've had a look around various recipe websites and found mainly recipes for preserving them, which doesn't seem worthwhile when I only have a few. I'd like to stay away from anything that's half fruit and half sugar; I cut down sweeteners in most things I make, and unmodified recipes are usually far too sweet for me.

I've heard that quinces and apples go well together. Maybe I could make a quince and apple crumble. Any other ideas?
