Helping lentil burgers stick

Hey, I have a quick question for all of you.  I made a lentil burger recipe last night from How it All Vegan.  The recipe was delicious, the only problem is I could not for the life of me get the patty to stick together.  The only wet ingredients it called for was a tiny bit of olive oil MAYBE a tiny bit of water if I remember correctly.  Does anybody have any advice on what I can add to help it stick -- my husband and I ended up eating it like sloppy joes.

This was the basic recipe as I remember it:

2 cups lentils
1/4 cup onion
3 tablesp olive oil
1 cup bread crumbs
3/4 cup wheat germ
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

Mix all together, leaving 2 tablspoons of wheat germ out to coat the patty.  Form the patties, lightly dust in remaining wheat germ and fry up in a pan of oil for about 5-10 minutes.
