vegan baking request

Well it's my last week of high school and a whole lot of people appear to be rejoicing, me inclusive. So we're having all these little 'parties' in classes in which people are supposed to bring food and I want to wow someone with some vegan baking. Or at least prove it's possible to bake awesomly without eggs and milk. Especially since my friend in one of these classes sgarted telling me how I can't eat fluffy cake the other day because of my veganism.

So my task for you guys:
Bring me your easiest, most fool-proof (i am not the best baker, i admit it) yet tastiest and fluffiest vegan baking related recipes ever! I've checked out the memories and everything but I really need the most tried and tested recipe, because, as I said, I'm not the best baker ever and I want them to give a nice view of veganism - some people can be pretty ignorant. Also, I already know the vineger chocolate cake recipe.. but I find it kind of dense, I don't know... so something new would or at least advice would be excellent. Thank you! :)

Vegan and gluten-free...

I was wondering if anyone could help me get some ideas for food. At my wedding reception I'll have 2 guests (out of 25-ish) who are vegans, and one of them is also allergic to wheat, the other lady isn't, but she PREFERS not to eat wheat. I'll be getting them vegan and gluten-free baked goodies for them, but I'm a little at a loss as far as what to serve as a "main" dish kind of thing. The big problem is that we can't keep the food hot--no electricity at the site (park). So, I'd like it to be something that tastes good when on the cooler side. I'm thinking some kind of vegetable roast, perhaps?

Anyway. Any ideas are welcome, just something tasty, vegan and gluten-free.

Thank you! <3

Two delicious autumn-y recipes (split pea and zucchini soup; warm pumpkin and chickpeas with tahini)

Well, the weather here in upstate NY has already been getting a little chilly, especially in the evenings. I'm always excited to start cooking fall/winter type foods again by now, so I've been cooking up a storm and thought I'd share two recipes I've particularly enjoyed:

Both recipes are super-photogenic and I wish I could post pictures, but my camera is currently on the fritz. :o( Your imaginations will have to suffice for now, or better yet, make everything yourself so you can taste as well as see the yumminess!

Crusty breads

I absolutely LOVE artisan breads (sesame semolina is my favorite!!) and I browsed around here for a bit, but didn't find any recipes. I was wondering if anyone knows a good recipe for breads that are soft on the inside, and chewy and crusty on the outside.

Also, do I need (knead? lol...okayyyy that was silly) any special equipment for making said bread? I've never made any except for banana bread...way off lol. Any info, tips, and advice would be more than greatly appreciated!! ^_^
