Spinach and Artichoke Dip Substitution Help

I want to make a spinach and artichoke dip for a potluck for work tomorrow.  (I really don't have a back up).  It's very similar to this recipe, which I've never made myself, but have tasted and it's wonderful.

Unfortunately, the store has been out of "Better than Sour Cream" for 2 weeks :(  My first instinct was to substitute plain soy yogurt for sour cream, because that generally works as a sub. for dairy sour cream.  But I've never tried it with soy, and I don't know if it would taste good in this recipe, so now I'm second guessing myself. 

My other thought was to just use 1/4 cup extra "cream cheese" and 1/2 cup extra vegeneise to make up the difference. 

The other concern with my recipe is that it calls for Adobe Spanish Seasoning.  From google my best guess is that it's roughly equal parts of salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, pepper, and oregano.  Can anyone confirm this?

The potluck is almost entirely vegan (they decided to bring one meat dish) to cater to me, so I'm really hoping that my dip is made of awesome.  Thanks. 

Lemons,Limes, ginger root

My husband and I bought a bunch of lemons and limes to start the master cleanse 2-morrow. Well we've decided to hold off till after the holidays since family will be in. Will they be ok to use if we freeze them?!?! I would hate to see them all go to waste. 

Also, I had bought a ginger root, and then decided not to make what I had in mind. what is everyone's favorite ginger root recipe?


Crock pot!

I finally surrendered to the lure of a crock pot. Do you have favorite recipes? I have found a ton online, but I have no idea what's good! I did check the tags and get a couple of good things from there, but I'd love further suggestions, especially for one-pot meals, things with protein, or ways to use the crock pot together with the gobs of root veggies from my winter farmshare. Thanks!
