zucchini "crab" cakes

My roommates got this recipe from Allrecipes.com and veganized it for me by subbing the egg for tofu :D it was sooo tasty.

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)
2 1/2 cups grated zucchini
1/4 c tofu, blended
2 tablespoons earth balance, melted
1 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup minced onion
1 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning TM
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup vegetable oil for frying

DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, combine zucchini, tofu, and margarine. Stir in seasoned crumbs, minced onion, and seasoning. Mix well.
Shape mixture into patties. Dredge in flour.
In a medium skillet, heat oil over medium high heat until hot. Fry patties in oil until golden brown on both sides.

hot sauce cookies?

last night I was at a house show where one guy brought these amazing cookies made with hot sauce (the kind at chinese restaurants with the chicken on it). I am pretty sure they are just chocolate chip cookies with hot sauce in them, but I don't want to mess around too much with the amount of hot sauce and have them tasting disgusting because the hot sauce taste in them was subtle but still spicy. searched the memories and googled to no avail, if anyone could point me in the right direction that'd be great!

plastic spray bottles for oil

i was just reading in my brand new copy of Veganomicon about kitchen must-haves.

they suggest getting either a Misto sprayer for oil or one of those cheapo plastic ones from housewares/gardening stores.

the plastic garden sprayer is something i've considered in the past since expensive oil sprayers have a terrible mist and lame coverage. usually you just end up getting a dribble even if you've pumped it a million times for pressure. and i'm not willing to buy a bottle of Pam spray, it tastes really gross in my opinion. :P

does anyone think it'd be concerning to store a fatty substance in a plastic spray bottle that probably isn't food grade plastic?
