Make My Dinner

This is what I have to work off of until I get paid/can go shopping tomorrow. We've been eating variations of the standard rice+beans all week so anything new (or improved) would be awesome.

Rice (long grain white and basmati)

Quinoa

Canned beans (kidney, black, and refried)

Nutritional Yeast

Tofutti Sour Supreme

Rolled Oats

Canola + olive oil

Dried herbs + spices (you name it… I have it)

Vanilla soymilk

Earth Balance margarine

Red wine+ white vinegar

Soy sauce

Vegan “beef” bouillon concentrate

Whole garlic cloves

A jar of minced ginger

A whole can of tahini

Spicy tomato "sausage" soup

This is a soup I came up with at the supermarket because they were out of the artichokes I had planned on making for dinner, so I needed a quick idea of something to make without a recipe in front of me.

Ingredients:
-1 large onion, sliced
-2 cloves garlic, minced
-2 serrano peppers, minced
-1/2 bell pepper, diced
-4 large beefsteak tomatoes, wedged
-2 Tbsp cilantro
-1 cup water
-1/2 cup nondairy milk
-3 Tbsp oil or margerine, separated
-1 cube of fake chicken or veggie boullion
-1 tube of Gimme Lean sausage, diced
-Tortilla chips

Method:
Sautee the onions in 1 Tbsp of oil or margerine until they are tender, then add the peppers + garlic + sautee for about 5 more minutes. Next, add the tomatoes, water + boullion + simmer covered for about 20 minutes. In the mean time, sautee the "sausage" in the remaining oil or margerine until it is browned. After the vegetable mixture is ready, add the cilantro and nondairy milk, then blend until smooth. Finally, mix in the sausage, serve + garnish with the chips.

dill herb?

i got dill from a local box last week(as in more than 5 stalks of it). i let it dry out and now i'm wondering how i store it? is it okay to just put it in a plastic baggie?
