At Loblaws they used to sell a really delicious tofu spread in the deli section. I haven't seen it in a long time but I don't think it was vegan either. Does anyone know a really great recipe for a tofu spread that might taste similar that's vegan?
I'm looking for some healthy dessert recipes. A while back I tried making black bean brownies, which seemed like a good way to get protein in, but the banana taste was overwhelming. Still - that's what I'm aiming for: low-cal, high nutrition. Any ideas?
Tomorrow night I'm cooking dinner for my boyfriend and his family. We usually eat vegan around here and the rest of his family is very lactose intolerant. I'm making a tofu quiche and ratatouille, and now I'm trying to scrounge up a recipe for some baked apples to serve with vanilla soy ice cream. All of the recipes I'm finding online want me to core out the apples and bake them like stuffed peppers, but that isn't very French at all. I'm wanting something with apple slices and crumbles, cinnamon, and brown sugar, but I don't want it to be a pie or tart since I'm already making a quiche in a crust. Can anyone help me out? I don't mind being pretty creative and just eyeballing amounts of ingredients. Thanks!
