Spanish almond cream

On my most recent trip to Spain, in a little health food store I came across a tin of this stuff, Almendrina, crema de almendras (almond cream). It is vegan, consists of almonds with some sugar and water. It is very sweet, tastes a bit like marzipan, and has a more syrupy texture than creamy. When I bought it I hoped it would be a good sub for heavy cream, like in ice cream, but I'm not so sure after opening it.

Any idea what I should do with it?
