-one butternut squash.
-two apples (i used gala; golden delicious would probably work well, too; red delicious or granny smith wouldn't be too great).
-cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg.
chop up the squash and apples into small-ish cubes, put them in ziplock bags and microwave for about 5-10 minutes.
dump them in a blender with enough vegetable broth to get the texture you want (i didn't use much; i like my soups thick), as much white wine as you see fit (4oz should do, any more might be too strong), and generous amounts of the spices.
that's it; the hardest part is cutting the squash (peeling it is a bit of a bitch!).
