Bloodroot cookbook; Southwest corn enchiladas, chilled lemon leek soup

I am not a vegan, or even a vegetarian, and i don't think i ever will be. However, over the past 5 or so years, I've taken to only eating meat maybe once or so a week. I prefer veggies and grains and tofu anyway.

Anyway, for the past year, I've had a veggie/vegan (mostly vegan, occasionally he'll have dairy.) partner. We go out to eat a lot together and cook together a lot, as you can imagine. This weekend, we drove up to a vegetarian-feminist restaurant in CT called bloodroot. The place is phenomenal.

Anyway, they publish all of their recipes in 2 books- the vegetarian book and vegan book- and i just want to reccommend them to anyone out there. The foods are arranged seasonally, and so so good. I had the best chocolate ice cream i've ever had there- and it was vegan.

Anyway, i wanted to point this out to people, i was really happy with the food, and, quite honestly, the place is lovely, if you're ever in the bridgeport area. There's no waitress and you have to bus your own table. There's a bookstore and events and 2 lovely cats!

Yesterday I made the Chilled Lemon Leek Soup and the Southwestern Corn Enchiladas.
