Kind-of-like gumbo

I had something like this at a friend's house recently, and now it's my favorite way to justify buying lots of things from the Alvarez Farms stall on Sundays.

So we start here:



In the picture above that's tomatoes, okra, corn, yellow onion, garlic, poblano peppers, and jalapeno peppers, all from Alvarez. Not shown are about three cups of cooked black-eyed peas.

Into the pot:



Which I think looks so tasty as is, I might do a side dish of just the green and white elements. At this point I've also added a seasoning blend: black pepper, cumin, fennel (didn't have file, so this is an attempt to hint at that flavor), oregano, salt, and chipotle.

When that stuff's about half tender I added the peas and tomatoes:



Finish with corn and a couple tablespoons of cider vinegar:
