i'll be honest, i love hummus but even when you go to restaurants it's not always good. those little differences in proportion or one ingredient change can ruin a hummus for me.
i used a can of chick peas but the only kind they had was the progresso brand and that can is a little bigger like 19oz instead of 15oz. also, i reserved half of the liquid.
3 Tbs tahini
juice of 1 lemon
3 cloves garlic
1/3 C olive oil
pinch of salt
pinch of pepper
chopped the garlic and heated with olive oil in a pan, pureed chick peas with reserved liquid in blender, added lemon juice salt pepper tahini then pureed again, added garlic and only about a Tbs or 2 of the oil then blend again
i served it with some of the garlicky oil drizzled over it.
it was good. i think with a little adjustment (maybe a little less tahini& reserved liquid and a little more oil) it will be awesome.
thanks for all the advice you gave to the earlier post. you guys gave me the confidence to try making my own hummus.
