Mucho Margarita Cupcakes....question!

Has anyone made the Mucho Margarita cupcakes from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World with plain almond milk before? Would using almond milk give them too much of a nutty flavor? Should I use rice milk instead? I'm trying to cut back on the soy as much as I can.
