Tofu for a baby..

I have a son who is 14 months old and was slow to start eating foods. He was strictly breast-fed for the first 6 months and when we tried to introduce a bottle or foods after 6 months he would have nothing to do with either. He is still breast-fed and he's eating pureed fruits and vegetables and some of the foods we eat in the house. I'm trying to find ways to include more tofu into his diet in order to get him his proteins and iron.

He loves peanuts, vegan chili with kidney beans and/or chick peas, refried beans and canned beans in maple syrup. All these are a protein source, but since I am not the chef of the house I've been asking his father to make him tofu as well, but we are both stuck on ideas.

The one idea I've come up with is to take silken tofu and puree it and to add it to his veggies or fruits. I'm not sure if silken tofu needs to be cooked at all before consumed and if I puree it would I be able to freeze it until I want to add it to his other pureed foods?

Also what other foods would be a high protein and/or iron source that a baby could eat?

Thanks for any input or ideas!!!
