Red Velvet Cupcakes

I want to make red velvet cupcakes for Valentine's Day for all my friends (vegan, of course).

I looked up some recipees online and looks like I'll need to replace the following ingredients:
buttermilk
eggs
cream cheese (frosting)
butter (frosting)

What is a good alternative to buttermilk? And could I just use egg replacer, fake cream cheese, and earth balance to replace the other ingredients? Suggestions? Recipes? I plan on making them tomorrow morning, so hopefully I can get some good advice before then! Thanks in advance!
