I love to cook, so I offered to make dinner for us. I know we typically eat very different things. To paint the picture: I eat a lot of ethnic food and he mostly sticks to American. I love veggies, he hates veggies and loves gravy. Last night I ate a green smoothie and he ate a cheese steak.
Though he's willing to try new stuff, I don't want to scare him away from it. I know I'm making a vegan cheesecake for dessert (cheesecake is his all time favorite dessert), but I'm a bit lost about the dinner part. The only veggies he likes are green beans...and I'm allergic to them (ack!). I think I could work him up to things like Moroccan couscous and sushi, but for now I think I'd better play it safe.
So my question to you: What are your favorite Americano-style foods that are hearty and new vegan friendly. Maybe vegan shepherd's pie? Twice baked potatoes and grilled bbq tofu (is tofu too scary for new vegans?) Ahhhh! Help!!
