I'd like to make chocolate caramel cupcakes. I want the caramel flavor to be in the cake part, rather than the frosting. The recipes I've found googling vegan caramel cupcakes are all for caramel frosting, and not the cake. Not-vegan versions for caramel cake involve melting (non-vegan) caramel candies.
Any tips for making my chocolate cupcakes caramel-flavored?
