I am celebrating my five-year mark a week from Friday and I need a couple suggestions for food. (I'm living in London as well, just for food reference.) Here's what I have so far. I had originally thought of having a theme-party, or at least having all the food go together, but I thought screw it! I might as well just cook all my favorite foods that can also be made for large groups. I should have between 10 and 15 people eating that night. I want all the food that night to be home-made, to show people how easy it is to cook and how delicious and healthy homemade can be.
Starter: Bruschetta other ideas? I wanted to make hummus, but I don't have a blender, and I doubt my immersion blender will do much.
Main: Black bean burgers and macaroni salad (I found vegan mayonnaise! Yay!) I had thought about tacos or mac-n-cheese, but this seems the easiest to make large-scale.
Dessert: Lemon cookies Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies Haystacks Chocolate cake The dessert menu may get cut back. But cookies are so easy to make, and need to be made the day before anyways. And everyone needs cake to celebrate!
