newbie needs some hewlp!

Hi everyone,

I've more or less gotten the hang of vegan cooking, but my baking attempts were pretty crazy.

Is mashed banana an egg substitute? Are there any other non synthesized substitutes?
And what about for butter or oil?

Which is used for binding and which is used for... making cakes fluffy?

Are there recipes out there for vegan shortbread?
