I GOT MY TREATS AND THEY ARE SO GOOD!!!

i got my treats in the mail today from Audrey (moanaeyez). i've only tried the first one so far but they're amazing. in fact i only got one before everyone that was over here when i opened the box snagged one. but they sure were a hit!

as you can see, the one tin is already empty. those were the oatmeal-raspberry bars. i ran to my room to hide the peanut butter rice krispie treats

oatmeal raspberry bars
1/2 cup margarine, room temp
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 cup flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp salt
1 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup raspberry preserves (or other flavor of choice)

directions:
heat oven to 350*F. grease 8" square pan. mix all ingredients except preserves. press 2 cups of mixture into pan. spread preserves to within 1/4" of edge of pan. sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the top and lightly press it into the preserves. bake 35-40min and allow to cool before cutting into squares

*they can be stored at room temp, but i've always like them cold* <--i agree that they're good cold (yes they arrived cold cuz it's cold here in kc today

peanut butter rice crispy treats
1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup natural peanut butter (craemy or crunchy)
7 cups rice krispies (puffed brown rice from health food store doesn't usually work)
Pam spray

directions:
in a large saucepan, combine brown sugar and corn syrup. cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture just begins to boil, stirring frequently. remove from heat, stir in the peanut butter and mix well. stire in the cereal, mixing until evenly coated. you may have to add more cereal if the mixture is too gooey. press evenly and firmly into greased 13x9 pan. let it cool, then cut into squares

thanks audrey i'm enjoying them greatly!!
